Which types of canopies does Kirchberger Metall offer?

We manufacture porch roofs, patio canopies, carports and solar/PV carports, bicycle shelters and bike houses, waiting shelters, smoking shelters, bin storage canopies as well as basement stairway canopies - all custom-made from metal.

What materials are the canopies made of?

The load-bearing structure is made of hot-dip galvanized and optionally powder-coated steel (e.g. RAL 7016), aluminum or stainless steel. Depending on the model, the roofing consists of laminated safety glass (VSG), multiwall/polycarbonate sheets or trapezoidal sheet metal.

Do I need a building permit for a canopy?

That depends on the federal state, size and type of construction. Small, open canopies are often exempt from permits up to a certain footprint, while large or enclosed structures usually require a building permit. When in doubt, a quick call to the building authority helps.

Do the canopies withstand snow and wind loads?

Yes. The structural design is adapted to the local snow and wind load zone and manufactured in a DIN EN 1090 certified workshop with verified structural analysis. On request, we supply the corresponding structural documentation.

How is a canopy founded and fastened?

Depending on the model, via frost-free pad or strip foundations or a concrete slab; free-standing or wall-mounted versions are additionally fixed with heavy-duty or bonded anchors. This ensures permanent stability.

Are the canopies delivered fully assembled or as a kit?

Depending on size and accessibility, we deliver fully assembled (for large structures e.g. by crane truck) or as a prepared kit. On request, we also take care of professional installation on site.

Do you make canopies to measure?

Yes, all canopies are handcrafted in Germany, planned and produced exactly to your dimensions and requirements - from consultation to installation.
