The work of a metal fabricator is varied and diverse. We fabricate railings, stairs, canopies, balconies, fences, gates, and more from a range of metals, and install them on site at customers’ premises. Each custom-made piece is produced to the customer’s specifications and to high quality standards. As a metal fabricator, you will work from technical drawings and as part of a team.

Your responsibilities

• Fabrication of metalwork products and sheet metal processing
• Fabrication from technical drawings
• Manufacturing processes including welding, grinding, machining, and forging
• Operating modern machinery
• Installing metalwork products on site at customers’ premises
• Transport and logistics in metal construction
• Working with various materials such as steel, stainless steel, aluminum, copper, and titanium zinc

Requirements

• Completed vocational training as a metal fabricator
• Good manual skills
• Technical aptitude
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Class B driver’s license

Start your apprenticeship as a metal fabricator! Over 3.5 years, you will learn everything you need for a great start to your career as a metal fabricator. The curriculum is taught through in-house vocational training, external training courses, the interim examination, and technical discussions, culminating in a project-based journeyman’s examination.

Apprenticeship start date: September 1, 2027

Through kirchberger-metall.de, we sell metalwork products to private homeowners and commercial customers in German-speaking countries, as well as to customers abroad. We are looking for a metal construction technician, metal construction master craftsperson, designer, or technical drafter to work on our online shop and production planning, combining metal construction expertise with a passion for customer contact and digital tools, and eager to help shape the shop. You will work on site with us in Seebarn, not in production. Customer communications can also be handled from home or remotely.

Start date: Immediately

Your responsibilities

• Advising and supporting our online shop customers: customer communication is a major part of this role
• Preparing quotes for customers in consultation and coordination with suppliers
• Production planning for orders from the online shop
• Developing new products for the online shop
• Coordination with production, suppliers, and other departments within the company
• As a secondary responsibility: technical planning and CAD design using HiCAD

Your profile

• Qualification as a metal construction technician, metal construction master craftsperson, designer, or technical drafter
• Experience in planning and production preparation for metal structures such as railings, canopies, stairs, and entrance canopies
• Practical experience in metal construction
• Friendly manner and strong communication skills when dealing with customers
• Strong computer skills and proficiency with MS Office
• CAD skills, ideally in HiCAD, are preferred but not required
• Openness to new technologies such as AI systems, which are playing an increasingly important role in our work
• A hands-on approach and ability to work independently
• Excellent spoken and written German, as you will advise customers and coordinate with suppliers. Understanding the Bavarian dialect is helpful when speaking with customers from the region.
• Good English skills, as some of our customers are based abroad

• €25 to €35 gross per hour, based on performance and results
