Individual staircase designs
Staircases are far more than just a connection between two floors – as a central design element, they define the character of your building. At Kirchberger Metall, we plan, manufacture, and install staircase concepts precisely tailored to your needs. Whether for a cozy home, modern business premises, or robust industrial facilities, we rely on durable materials and craftsmanship that combines functionality with appealing design. You have complete freedom in your choice of materials and can combine steel with wood, glass, or stone.
Interior staircases and residential staircases: The eye-catcher in the house
Indoors, the staircase is often the centerpiece of the architecture. OursInterior staircasesWe offer aesthetic solutions for every interior design style. Modern steel and wood combinations, which blend loft-like character with a cozy warmth, are particularly popular. For those who want to save space without sacrificing design, our spiral staircases offer an elegant solution that becomes a real eye-catcher in any room. Each staircase is individually designed to seamlessly integrate into your living space and remain stable for generations to come.
Exterior stairs and fire escape stairs: Safe access in all weather conditions
Outdoor stairs must withstand all conditions. OursExterior stairsMade of steel, these structures are hot-dip galvanized, providing optimal protection against corrosion. During the galvanizing process, the steel is immersed in molten zinc at over 400 degrees Celsius, making the structure weatherproof for decades. Whether used as direct access from the balcony to the garden or as a vital emergency escape staircase, we supply standards-compliant systems that offer maximum slip resistance, even in winter.
The right stair width: From compact to comfortable
The ideal width for your steel staircase depends entirely on its intended use. For infrequently used access to a patio, a compact width of 60 cm is often sufficient. The classic choice for single-family homes is the standard width of 80 cm, which offers a familiar walking experience. If you desire greater comfort or frequently carry heavy boxes to the basement, we recommend a width of 100 cm. The "premium" width of 120 cm offers luxurious walking comfort, allowing two people to walk comfortably side-by-side – ideal for grand entrances or main staircases.
Industrial stairs: Stable, safe and compliant with standards
In commercial and industrial environments, durability and safety are paramount. Our industrial staircases are designed for demanding conditions and meet all building regulations. We manufacture robust steel structures that remain low-vibration and safe even under heavy loads. Whether for maintenance walkways, warehouses, or machine access – we supply industrial staircases that are functionally precise and characterized by rapid assembly.
Stair railings: Your added safety in everyday life
A railing is essential for safety, but also an important design element. At Kirchberger Metall, you'll find high-quality stair railings made of stainless steel or galvanized steel. Stainless steel railings have a timeless and elegant look, while the galvanized version offers a particularly robust and cost-effective alternative. Legal regulations are crucial for planning: The railing height must generally be at least 100 cm (or even 110 cm for fall heights of 12 m or more). To protect children, balusters should be mounted vertically and spaced no more than 18 cm apart. This way, design and safety go hand in hand.
