Calypso VSG Aluminum Glass Canopy – Front Door Canopy with Rain Gutter

The Calypso canopy is a flat aluminum canopy with 8 mm laminated safety glass for the front door, side entrance or basement stairway. The glass pane rests on two to four cantilever arms; the rain gutter at the front edge catches the water and drains it off to the sides. The entrance stays dry and the facade stays clean.

Sizes and colors

33 standard sizes: width 1,200 to 3,500 mm, projection 750, 950 or 1,150 mm. The width specification is the glass width; the wall profile is 24 mm wider. We manufacture intermediate sizes and special shapes on request.

Available at no surcharge in RAL 9016 white, RAL 7016 anthracite matt, RAL 9007 grey aluminum matt and DB 703 iron mica matt. The fine-texture surfaces in RAL 7016 anthracite and DB 703 iron mica as well as the stainless steel look version are available at a surcharge; the surcharge is already included in the variant price shown. Further RAL shades on request.

What to look out for when choosing

The projection depends on the weather protection you need: 750 mm is enough for a sheltered front door, 950 or 1,150 mm also cover a step in front of the door. Check the wall before ordering: the brackets need a load-bearing substrate of masonry or concrete. With external thermal insulation composite systems, please contact us before ordering.

Via a round aluminum rain gutter (open at an angle on both sides) with lateral drainage on both sides. The mounting rail is concealed, and the maximum cantilever arm spacing is ≤ 1,300 mm. Optionally, the gutter is available closed on one side.

The assumed load is 75 kg/m². Higher loads - for example for snowy regions - are possible on request. Additional loads according to DIN EN 1991 are not included in the standard assumption.

On request and at extra cost, a matte glass film and a self-cleaning effect (Pilkington Activ) are available. For acrylic glass models, additional versions such as satin finish or clear textured are possible.

A small front door porch roof is exempt from permits in most federal states. In the case of listed buildings or if the porch roof extends into the public street space, the building authority should be contacted in advance.
