Custom-made Corten steel raised garden bed kit – up to 10 meters long, with invisible screw connections

This rectangular raised garden bed comes as a kit made of genuine Corten steel, cut to your desired dimensions. You assemble the four corner pieces, matching side panels, and horizontal cross-braces from the inside. From the outside, you won't see a single screw—just a clean, tranquil steel surface that will develop its signature weathered patina over time.

This kit really shines where pre-welded beds reach their limits: for long beds placed along fences or house walls, and for gardens that are only accessible through narrow gates, stairs, or through the house. You can carry the parts to the location individually and assemble the bed right where you need it.

Your dimensions, precise to the centimeter

Enter the length, width, and height in centimeters in the configurator. The sketch shows the bed with your specific measurements, along with the approximate empty weight and soil capacity. The price is displayed immediately.

• Length: 40 to 1000 cm
• Width: 40 to 200 cm, no greater than the length
• Height: 40 to 130 cm

All dimensions are the external measurements of the frame. For comfortable working from both sides, a width of 80 to 100 cm has proven successful, while a height of 80 to 90 cm saves you from having to bend over. If you need a different shape, such as an L- or U-shaped bed, please ask us about a custom design.

Sheet thickness matched to length

The longer the side wall, the more soil pressure it must withstand. The length of your bed therefore determines the minimum thickness:

• Up to 70 cm length: 2 mm
• Up to 140 cm length: 3 mm
• Up to 190 cm length: 4 mm
• Over 190 cm length: 5 mm

The configurator automatically hides thicknesses that are too thin. You can choose a thicker sheet than necessary at any time.

Assembly and construction

Each wall consists of the widest possible side panels to keep the number of screw connections to a minimum. The number of parts and their individual widths are determined by your dimensions. The horizontal cross-braces reinforce the walls against soil pressure. They are positioned below half the bed's height, leaving plenty of room in the upper area for digging and planting.

For assembly, you will need an Allen key and a wrench for M6 screws. Start with one corner piece and attach the side panels one by one. A tip from our workshop: At first, only loosely tighten the screws in the middle of the three holes. This leaves room for adjustment; tighten all screws completely only once all parts and braces are in place. Assembly instructions are included.

The top edge is double-folded, and the corners are welded at the top. The minimum dimension increases with the sheet thickness: 2 mm sheet metal receives at least 30 × 20 mm, 3 mm gets 40 × 25 mm, 4 mm gets 45 × 35 mm, and 5 mm gets 60 × 40 mm (width × height). You can set a wider support edge of up to 100 mm in the configurator at no extra cost. The folded edge faces inward or, if you want a supporting rim to lean on, outward. At the bottom, a simple 30 mm fold stabilizes the stand. The kit does not have a floor and remains in open contact with the ground.

Patina: faster with degreased parts

Corten steel forms its protective layer naturally when outdoors. You can speed up the process by degreasing the parts with brake cleaner or white spirit before or immediately after assembly: Rust will form sooner on a grease-free surface. Leave about 1 cm of air around the bed near walls or neighboring beds. On light-colored stone slabs, rust may initially run off and leave stains; it is better to place a mat or a gravel bed underneath.

Genuine Corten steel – not "structural steel with a rust look"
