Mounting kit for French balconies on timber substructures / timber frame construction

Suitable for all French balconies offered in our shop, as well as for our window security bars when these are installed as fall protection. The extremely sturdy special Rampa insert nut is first screwed into the timber structure using an Allen key. The M10 threaded rod is then screwed in and the component is fastened to it.

The insert nut and threaded rod are made of high-quality stainless steel and are approved for outdoor use. Never use cheap galvanized fastening material; we also advise against simple hanger bolts.

Set of 2 or set of 4 – which size?

A French balcony hangs from four points, so you need the set of 4. The same applies to the Security Bar IV: each of its two wall brackets gets two anchors, otherwise the bracket can twist under load. The Security Bar III, by contrast, sits in the reveal with one anchor per wall connection – here the set of 2 is sufficient.

  • Face-mounted wall installation: Threaded rod M10, length 150 mm
  • Depending on the construction, the length of the threaded rod can be adjusted on site

Questions and Answers

The mounting kits fit all French balconies and fall protection products offered in our shop. What matters is not the balcony model but the substrate: choose the kit to match your wall – masonry/concrete or timber substructure – and the mounting type (face-mounted or in the reveal).

The difference lies in the length of the anchor rod or threaded rod. With face-mounted wall installation, the balcony sits in front of the facade and requires the longer rod; for installation in the reveal (on the sides of the window niche), the shorter version is sufficient. Select the appropriate option in the selection field.

Yes. All anchor, sleeve, and threaded parts are made of high-quality stainless steel and are approved for outdoor use. For safety reasons, never use cheap galvanized mounting materials; we also advise against simple hanger bolts.

For a wall with external insulation (ETICS), you need a special kit with thermally separated standoff anchors so the load is safely transferred into the load-bearing masonry and no cold bridge is created. You will find this ETICS kit separately in our shop.

The sets for French balconies contain material for four fixing points: 4 anchor rods or threaded rods including nuts and cap nuts, plus sieve sleeves and injection mortar (construction adhesive) in the masonry set, and the Rampa inserts in the timber set. The same sets are available for the Security Bar III as a 2-piece version, because that bar sits in the reveal with one anchor per wall connection.
