The type of installation. The Security Bar III is fitted into the reveal – it sits between the two side walls of the window opening, and the slip-over sleeve compensates for the dimension. The Security Bar IV is screwed onto the wall in front of the opening with two wall brackets. That also works where there is no clean reveal or where the roller shutter guide is in the way.

On the IV the outer tube always measures Ø 42.4 mm; on the III you can choose between Ø 33.7 and Ø 42.4 mm. The anti-sawing protection provided by the internal rolling bar Ø 12 mm is the same on both.

Two use cases. As mechanical burglary protection in front of windows on the ground floor, in the basement or on sides of the house that are hard to see – more discreet than a window grille, because only one tube sits in front of the pane and it barely obstructs the view. And as fall protection in front of floor-to-ceiling windows and doors that open for ventilation.

For the second case, choose one of the three mounting kits with M10 anchors in the configurator: there the forces act perpendicular to the wall, and screws with wall plugs are not designed for that. The height a barrier at your window has to reach is governed by the building regulations of your federal state – if in doubt, just give us a quick call.

Yes – with the right fixing material. With burglary protection, someone pulls on the bar from outside; with fall protection, someone pushes against it from inside. That is a different load direction, and it determines the anchoring.

Instead of the Torx security screws you then need M10 anchors. Three sets are available in the configurator, depending on the wall construction: masonry (brick, aerated concrete), external thermal insulation systems up to 200 mm insulation thickness with a thermally separated anchor, and timber frame construction with a Rampa insert. These are the same sets we supply for our French balconies.

The height at which the barrier has to sit is set out in the building regulations of your federal state. Send us a photo of the window situation if you are unsure.

High-quality, rust-free 1.4301 (V2A) stainless steel, brushed. The wall-mounting elements are also made of stainless steel. Manufactured in Germany.

You state the fixing distance in millimeters – with surface-mounted installation this is the distance between the two wall brackets, measured from hole to hole.

Unlike the Security Bar III, the bar does not sit in the reveal, so you have some leeway: position the brackets far enough out that they sit on load-bearing substrate and do not end up on a plaster edge or in the roller shutter box. Lengths from 250 to 2000 mm are possible.

For burglary protection, the Torx security screws with an insert cap: 7×50 mm in normal masonry, 7×105 mm with thick plaster or a soft top layer. The insert cap prevents anyone from unscrewing the brackets from outside.

Three sets are available: masonry (brick, aerated concrete), external thermal insulation systems up to 200 mm insulation thickness with a thermally separated anchor, and timber frame construction with a Rampa insert.

Each of the two wall brackets gets two anchors – with only one, the bracket could twist under load. The sets are therefore sized as 4-piece sets.
