Exterior staircases are usually made of hot-dip galvanized steel, optionally additionally powder-coated (duplex, e.g. RAL 7016), or of rust-free stainless steel. These materials are weatherproof, resistant to road salt and durable; suitable treads include gratings, checker plate or natural stone.

Exterior staircases serving as building access are subject to DIN 18065 and the state building codes. These regulate the rise-to-run ratio, stair width, tread depth and the railing height for fall protection (generally at least 90 cm, 110 cm above a fall height of 12 m). We manufacture in accordance with DIN EN 1090.

For safe footing in wet conditions, leaves and frost, grating treads (self-draining) and ribbed checker plate are ideal. Both offer high slip resistance and let rainwater and dirt drain off.

The staircase is bolted via base plates onto a frost-free foundation (pad or strip foundation) and additionally fixed to the building wall with heavy-duty anchors. This ensures permanent stability.

Depending on the size, we deliver the exterior staircase fully welded or as a prepared kit. All parts are handcrafted in Germany and precisely prefabricated, so assembly on site is completed quickly.

Yes. We manufacture escape and fire escape stairs to code in accordance with DIN EN 1090 with verified structural analysis - suitable for commercial and public buildings as well as residential complexes.
